MK-85 Came in Today

I am not sure why I bought this but at this point I think I am really glad... Got a great price on the auction and now that it is here I can not prove that it is not a NIB...

Nothing looks used.... the breech is spotless, even the tip of the ram rod is perfectly clean - no powdere smuge no stains... Even the box is in great shape...

54 caliber loads for MK85

Have recently converted an early Knight Stainless Steel MK 85 (serial # 2362SS) to use the 209 shotgun primer. I want to develop a load for this rifle, but am a bit discouraged by the lack of components available for 54 caliber. Would like to try the Bloodline bullet from Knight that were supposed to be available after the first of the year, but they haven't surfaced yet. Am I reading that a 50 cal ...

The history of the ML85????

I have a very early model MK85. One of the first to hit Nashville. With the right load it will shoot well under a inch at 100 yards.

I have heard reports that a lot of people did not have have such good luck with the MK85 that there might have been some bad Green Mountain barrels floating around.

Anyone able to confirm that or deny that claim????
